Optional applied labs

A setting to explore.
Skills to put to work.

A focused project gives the capabilities a particular context. An applied lab can be discussed separately; the core programme is not a prerequisite.

Business & money

The Business Challenge.

A guided simulation in offers, costs, negotiation and adapting to change. Four 90-minute sessions, with initial group design for 4–6 learners aged 9–12.

A group that fits

Bring a few friends.
Learn with different views.

An existing friend group can enquire together. Initial student group design is for 4–6 learners aged 9–12, subject to fit, setting and support.

Shared work

A role for each learner.

Decisions and questions are distributed so that the most confident speaker does not own the experience.

Guided practice

Useful feedback and another attempt.

The educator notices specific behaviours and helps learners apply feedback in the next round.

Other project briefs

A wider curriculum.

Other projects can explore communication, judgement and everyday independence. A separately agreed brief is required; a broad age range is not one mixed class.
